Be ready to vote October 18 to 24 and help shape the future of your community
From October 18 to 24, eligible Clarington electors will exercise their democratic right to vote and help shape the future of Clarington. This election, voting in Clarington will take place electronically by internet and telephone. Electors can vote at their convenience during the voting period, from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022.
Vote anywhere and anytime using your computer, tablet or touchtone telephone. It’s easy, safe and convenient. This is your community, your voice, your Council.
Here’s what you need to know to be prepared to vote in this election:
- Confirm you’re on the voters’ list.
- Watch for your Voter Information Letter.
- Find out who’s running.
- Learn why you might need to visit an Election Assistance Centre.
Confirm you’re on the voters’ list.
Check that you’re on the voters’ list by visiting www.clarington.net/votes and learn how to add your name and update your address or school support information.
Watch for your Voter Information Letter.
Voter Information Letters were mailed to every eligible elector in early October, advising electors of their PIN and providing detailed instructions on how to vote. It also includes information on where to get assistance during the voting period.
If you do not receive your Voter Information Letter in the mail, you might not be on the voters’ list. To add your name to the list, visit the Municipal Administrative Centre (40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville), any Clarington Public Library Branch or an Election Assistance Centre. Bring identification that shows your name, address and date of birth.

If you need help during the voting process or need to add your name to the voters’ list, you can visit an Election Assistance Centre (EAC). These accessible EACs have been set up to provide you with:
- A Voter Information Letter (and PIN) if you didn’t receive one.
- An opportunity to correct your address or school support.
- An opportunity to vote using touchscreen devices if you do not have access to the internet or a touchtone telephone.
- Assistance with voting.
